When customers enter our store we expect our team members to greet them with a smile, engage them in conversation, and serve their needs. Our purpose is to assist everyone who wants to begin or maintain an active lifestyle to reach their goals and beyond. If you are shy about approaching new people, this probably isn’t the environment for you.
It’s not just about selling. It’s about educating. Get Fit team members are expected to know the products we sell so we can suggest the right shoe, apparel piece, or accessory that best meets the needs of the customer. We want our team to be comfortable with (even excited about) recommending items that customers might not even know they want but will find incredibly useful once they are shown! We are passionate about equipping our customers with the tools they need to maximize performance and enjoyment of their workouts.
Self-motivation is a requirement for Get Fit team members. When customer traffic slows, you will be expected to take care of “housekeeping” details like cleaning, restocking, writing Thank You notes, and more. As part of a team, you and your co-workers rely on one another to perform at your best and take care of the things that need to be done.
Our top priority at Get Fit is customer service. From the moment they enter the door until the time we invite them to return, our customers are our focus. You need to be able to remain calm and friendly under pressure. Once you gain experience, you may find yourself working with 2-3 customers at once. You need to be able to find a balance between managing your time while making the customer feel appreciated. They are the reason we are in business, afterall.
Keeping our team members happy is one of the top priorities of the Get Fit management. Happy people are more productive people! Part of our commitment to you is making a fair schedule that allows you to balance your work and pleasure time as much as possible. Making it fair, however, means you must be available to work some weekends on a regular basis. It’s just part of the nature of the retail beast.
